Recently, I enjoyed several videos (you may have seen but they're new for me) that touch on several school kinds of issues. The first is entitled Validation and it made me think of the power we have to validate one another, especially our students. The video is a comic fable but you know how fables hold pretty close to a truth.
The second one is a TED talk entitled The Path from 'No' to 'Yes.' And while I don't necessarily agree with everything the speaker proposes in the video. Several of the points make it worth posting. First, our students need to "Go to the Balcony" quite often and get a larger perspective. And all of us need to learn how to "reframe" the discussion or situation. It will help us see our lives as perfect.
